Wilson’s World: Previewing the Keep Pounding 5K
Wilson was at Levine Children's Center to preview the upcoming Carolina Panthers Keep Pounding 5K
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On Saturday, May 14th over 1,000 runners will put on their running shoes to participate in the Carolina Panthers 2016 Keep Pounding 5K Stadium Run to benefit Levine’s Children’s Hospital and Levine Cancer Institute. Wilson was at Levine this morning to give us a preview of the event.
Wilson was joined by David and his son Noah who was just diagnosed with cancer in March and is a patient at Levine Children’s Hospital. They talked with Wilson about what Keep Pounding means to them. Noah also talked about his favorite sport, lacrosse.
The Keep Pounding 5K is a part of the Carolina Panthers Keep Pounding Fund that was created in 2003 with Carolinas HealthCare Foundation to support cancer research efforts.
The run kicks off at 8am. The course begins on East Morehead St. outside of Levine Cancer Institute and ends inside Bank of America Stadium where runners will feel like a Panther emerging on game day! The finish line will be set up at the 50 yard line. Friends and family are asked to attend and cheer for participants from the stands.
All of the running slots are filled, but there is always a need for donations for the Keep Pounding Fund. To find out more about the 5K and the Keep Pounding Foundation go to their website HERE.
Once again this year, WCCB is proud to be a sponsor of the Carolina Panthers Keep Pounding 5K Stadium Run. This year, WCCB Rising’s Kristine Zell will kick off the event and be at the 50 yard line to welcome runners to the field.
