Community Encouraged To Participate In City Manager Survey

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The City of Charlotte encourages residents to participate in a survey, beginning today, to identify important characteristics in the city’s next City Manager.

Ralph Andersen & Associates will assist with the selection of the next City Manager and they are developing a candidate profile that identifies high priority issues, expertise and management characteristics, and important professional experience for the next City Manager.

The anonymous and confidential surveys are considered public record.Β  They will be sent directly to Ralph Andersen & Associates through the online link. The survey will be open until midnight on Friday, June 3, 2016.

The City of Charlotte has a council-manager form of government wherein the Mayor and Council are responsible for policy decisions regarding the community.Β  The City Manager provides support to the Mayor and Council so that they can develop and implement effective services and policy.

The City Manager supervises day-to-day operations of all city departments, submits the city’s annual budget, and other reports as required by the council.

Applications for the City Manager position will be accepted from June 17th until July 8th. The Mayor and City Council will interview candidates and select two to three finalist by early August.
