Groups Rally Behind CMS Staff Member Injured in Fight

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —Β Groups are rallying behind the Charlotte High School Employee involved in that violent fight caught on camera at Harding University High School.

You can hear hitting as Harding University students repeatedly punch staff Annette Albright, who works with children labeled as having behavioral problems.

CMPD has currently issued warrants for the four students involved in the assault and while the school district will only say it is incident, the bishop of the A-M-E Zion Church’s Eastern and Western districts is Bringing in leaders and groups to gather in front of the school in the coming days in order to show support for Albright.

Anti-violence advocate Will Adams say’s he’ll be there to let the school know he thinks the teacher did the right thing by trying to push the students off and escape. So far, Albright has not returned to work as she is still recovering from a concussion.

Of the students responsible for the assault, Honesty Williams remains in jail for the second day, while Shaquila Hill was bonded out yesterday and records show Kiyanna Barnes has not yet been booked into jail. As for the fourth student, whose name we aren’t releasing because he is a minor, there still remains a warrant for his arrest.
