CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The kids may be out of school for the summer, but Classroom Central never takes a vacation. The volunteers with Classroom Central continue to work hard in the summer to gather school supplies that teachers will need for their students this fall. Wilson was there to see how they are working to re-stock before the new school year.
Wilson talked with 16 year old high school student Soumya who is currently working on a GoFundMe campaign to purchase books and supplies for Classroom Central.
Danny, who is a volunteer, expressed to Wilson how important working with Classroom Central is to him. Wilson talked with teacher Mary McNeely and found that teachers not only visit Classroom Central for supplies but they volunteer there as well.
The shelves are empty right now at Classroom Central and they need you to help get them re-stocked before the new school year. Find out more on how you can hold a supply drive, volunteer or donate to Classroom Central at their website classroomcentral.org.
The mission of Classroom Central is to give students who live in poverty the school supplies they need to succeed in the classroom. Classroom Central covers schools in Charlotte Mecklenburg, Gaston, Iredell/Statesville, Union, the City of Kannapolis, and Lancaster, SC.
