Wilson’s World: Getting Down and Dirty for Habitat for Humanity

This Sunday's Habitat Mud Volleyball tournament raises money for Habitat for Humanity.

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – How do you give mud volleyball class?  Discuss it using a British accent, of course.  Well, not really, but it was fun to hear.

Wilson was with members of the Habitat Young Professionals as they were getting the mud “court” ready for Saturday’s 10th Annual Habitat Mud Volleyball tournament.  From the idea of how to celebrate a 30th birthday in a big way, Tim Murphy came up with “Murphy’s Dirty 30” volleyball tournament.  And it was decided that the money they raised would go to Habitat for Humanity.  The idea was a hit and has continued well past Tim’s big 3-0.

The Habitat Young Professionals of Charlotte was created in late 2007.  The group works with Habitat for Humanity while providing networking opportunities for future leaders.  Find out more about the Habitat Young Professionals at hypcharlotte.org.

Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte brings people together to build affordable housing for low income families.  To get more information on Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte go to their website habitatcharlotte.org.

The 10th Annual Habitat Mud Volleyball tournament will be this Sunday, June 26th from 1pm until 8pm at Bryton Development on Savoy Lane in Huntersville.  Registration for players has already filled up, but they are asking for people to come out and cheer them on.  For more information go to their website at habitatmudvolleyball.org.
