Wilson’s World: Welcoming New Citizens to Charlotte
Levine Museum welcomes 25 new U.S. Citizens during naturalization ceremony today.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It is a very important 4th of July for 25 area residents. This year they will officially enjoy celebrating Independence Day as new U.S. citizens.
Wilson was at the Levine Museum of the New South where 25 people will participate in an Oath of Allegiance at a naturalization ceremony to become American citizens.
Lee Holston with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services talked with Wilson about the ceremony and how important it is to those who have worked so hard for the right to become an American citizen.
Gillian Bosonetto who is originally from South Africa, Muhammed & Sidra Kashmir from Pakistan and Sandra Cardoso Lopes from Brazil are 4 of our new citizens that have been in the U.S. for quite a few years and are now taking the oath. They spoke with Wilson before the the ceremony about what America means to them and their desire to become American citizens.
