CHARLOTTE, NC — Police now suspect foul play in the case of three missing Charlotte friends.

CMPD says 17-year-old Alex Castillo and 19-year-old Ahmia Feaster are on the run in Mexico.

Detectives think they could know something about Tru “Sandy” Le’s disappearance. Homicide detectives were still uncertain Aug. 16 if Le is alive.

Missing posters hang all over the Charlotte area.

“Sandy’s family, they’re inconsolable at this point,” said Justice Served Private Investigations’ Jennifer Simmons.

Le’s parents hires Simmone as their private investigator.

“Your heart just goes out for them,” said Simmons.

One week since Le, Castillo and Feaster vanished, CMPD says officers in Phoenix, Arizona found Le’s black Toyota Corolla. Detectives say evidence leads them to believe Castillo and Feaster ditched it there before running to Mexico, but they won’t say what that evidence is.

“I am concerned for both of these individuals,” said Maj. Cam Selvey. “They’re young folks, have gotten into something, and now they’ve ended up in a place where I think they could be in danger.”

For a week parents and volunteers searched for the trio.

Family told WCCB Charlotte Castillo and Feaster met with Le last Tuesday, Aug. 9, to return $1,000 Castillo borrowed from her. Instead, someone drained her bank account.

“We are investigating it as a homicide,” said Maj. Selvey.

Police think the teens left Le in Charlotte before driving her car out West.

“I would love nothing more than to be able to come back in front of you and say that we found Miss Le safe and sound,” said Maj. Selvey.

Police have warrants to arrest Feaster and Castillo for possession of a stolen vehicle.

“For anybody that has information, please, contact police,” said Simmons.

Castillo’s family attorney tells WCCB Charlotte his mother’s greatest concern is Le now that she knows her son and Feaster are alive. “Her heart goes out to them,” said Ruth Gorman. “Truth will come out as to what is driving this. It’s entirely inconsistent with her son’s character.”

Feaster’s family had no comment Tuesday.
