CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson loves to read and as a kid he was a very avid reader.  Today he was with a great group that works hard to make sure that every kids gets the chance to enjoy great books.  Volunteers with Promising Pages were busy working while Wilson stopped in their warehouse to visit.

Promising Pages takes books that others have outgrown, gives them new life and distributes them to kids who need them.  Wilson was at their warehouse where volunteers where bringing in books to be refurbished and distributed.  Located on East Peterson Drive, the warehouse space is donated to Promising Pages by CBI.

One of the great programs of Promising Pages is their Magic Book Parties that they hold for kids from kindergarten to 2nd grade.  With the help of Erm the Bookworm and Erma the Bookworma kids can also become a bookworm!  These parties ignite a spark for the kids when they start reading on their own.

The program of Promising Pages is also in partnership with Smart Start of Mecklenburg County helping to provide Smart Start with books for the children in their programs.

Over 60,000 children in the Greater Charlotte area are growing up without books that help them learn to read and grow.  To find out more about Promising Pages, how you can donate those books that your kids have outgrown or how to volunteer go to their website at promisingpages.org.
