Carowinds’ Fury 325 Voted #1 Steel Coaster In The World
CHARLOTTE, N.C. —Β Carowinds’ Fury 325 roller coaster has been voted the #1 Steel Coaster in the World at the 19th annual Golden Ticket Awards over the weekend.
The Golden Tickets Awards ceremony, held at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio, recognize the “Best of the Best” in the amusement park industry.Β The awards are based on polls from park visitors around the world, and conducted by Amusement Today, a trusted industry publication.
Carowinds’ Intimidator was voted the #8 Steel Coaster of 2016, and Carowinds is the only theme park to have two roller coasters in the top 10 Best Steel Coasters of 2016.Β Last year, Fury 325 won the “Best New Ride Of 2015”.Β The awards kept coming, as Blackbeard’s Revenge at Carolina Harbor Waterpark received second place for Best New Waterpark Ride.
Fury 325 rises 325 feet and takes riders on a 95Β mile per hour ride down an 81 degree fall.Β The popular ride has taken visitors on more than 3.3 million rides since March of 2015.
