CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson stopped in at Spay Neuter Charlotte this morning to visit with the caring people who are working hard to stop the problem of homeless sheltered animals being euthanized before the problem starts. Cary Bernstein the Executive Director joined Wilson and discussed the work done at the clinic. And of course Wilson had a few jokes, comments and lots of fun.
Spay Neuter Charlotte is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2011 to work to bring an end to the number of the homeless animals being taken to Charlotte shelters and then being euthanized. Since opening, they have spayed or neutered 42,000 animals. By the end of this year they are hoping to reach 50,000. They currently have 2 locations and hope to soon open a third in Mooresville.
While there Wilson presented his latest “Wilson’s Moment of Good Award” to Dr. Elizabeth Welch who is the clinic’s Medical Director. Dr. Welch works with the shelters throughout the area to help spay and neuter their animals. Dr. Welch talked with Wilson on how she feels about her work with the clinic and important it is to her.
Spay Neuter Charlotte will be hosting fundraisers during the month of October to to help provide their low cost services to more of the community. To find out more about Spay Neuter Charlotte and their upcoming events, check their website spayneutercharlotte.org.
