CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It has been a while since Wilson stopped in at the Charlotte Curling Association, so he decided today was a good day to check in. And it was a little surprising what he found there this morning..a man dressed in lederhosen and a woman in a dirndl.
This dressed out couple, Kristen and Dan, is getting ready for Charlotte Curling Association’s upcoming Rocktoberfest where anyone over the age of 6 can learn to curl. Matt, who participates in wheelchair curling, also joined in the conversation to talk about how curling can be enjoyed be just about everyone.
Rocktoberfest runs from September 18th through September 30th. If you are interested in learning to curl, go to the weblink HERE. Be sure to enter the discount code WILSON to save 40% on your curling registration.
The Charlotte Curling Association was founded in 2010. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to the sport of curling and helping it to flourish in the Charlotte area. Members range in age from 6 to 80 with anywhere from no curling experience to seasoned veterans.
At their facility located at 6525 Old Statesville Road in Charlotte they offer classes for the younger curler as well as curling enthusiasts who have various mental and physical disabilities. Not only is curling recognized as an official sport in the Olympics but it is also an official sport of the Paralympic Games.
