Wilson’s World: Outdoor Ads Hit the Fashion Runway at the Mint Museum
The Mint Museum's "Outdoor is In" billboard dress exhibit will be open thru Octoer 30th.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – We have all see fashion on outdoor billboards, but how about outdoor bills as fashion? Wilson was Uptown at the Mint Museum where he was taking us inside to get a look at their current pop-up exhibit “Outdoor is In.” In what is probably the best use of “upcycling” old advertising billboards have been re-imaged into runway worthy fashion. In conjunction with Adams Outdoor These vinyl advertising billboards from such iconic companies as Pepsi, Coke and even Chick-fil-A have found new life.
The “Outdoor is In” exhibit is free to visitors through October 30th. For more information on the event including museum hours go to their link HERE.
This year the Mint Museum is celebrating “80 Years of Art and Inspiration with the Year of the Woman.” Some of the other exhibits open are “Fired Up Women in Glass” and artwork from the “Women of Abstract Expressionism.”
