Vigil Planned in Honor of Three-Year-Old Murder Victim
SHELBY, NC — Shelby police have made three arrests in the murder case that left a three-year-old boy dead.
“They can’t bring the three-year-old back. He was a poor, innocent little child, and he was out here playing all the time. He was the sweetest little boy,” said one neighbor who asked to remain anonymous.
That neighbor says she encountered the suspects immediately after the shootings.
It’s very hard because we supported them,” said the neighbor. “I did everything I could as a neighbor would do for a neighbor. And to find out that the girl I offered my socks and stuff to and a coat, killed that baby. Now, how would you feel?”
Police now believe a robbery had just unfolded inside the Whisnant St. home early Thursday morning.
More than 24 hours later, police announced the arrests of Morris Abraham, 30, Mario Wilson, 27 and Aubre Sucato, 23.
They are charged with two counts of first degree murder for killing three-year-old Liam Murray and 22-year-old Miranda Woods. Woods is a family friend of the toddler.
The suspects are charged with attempted first degree murder after police say they shot Jerroid Shippy repeatedly.
They also face charges of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Family friends of the three-year-old victim are holding a vigil outside the Whisnant St. home Saturday evening at 7:30 in honor of Liam.
You can help the family with funeral costs by donating to Liam’s fund at Hometrust bank in Shelby.
