Wilson’s World: Previewing Charlotte’s Veterans Day Parade with Carolinas Freedom Foundation at Carolinas Aviation Museum

The Carolinas Freedom Foundation 2016 Veterans Day Parade will salute our veterans this Saturday, November 5th beginning at 11am.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson always enjoys visiting the Carolinas Aviation Museum, but today he was there to thank our veterans and preview this Saturday’s Carolinas Freedom Foundation 2016 Veterans Day Parade.

Founded in 1995 the Carolinas Freedom Foundation to inspire patriotism and leadership in our community, especially in our youth while honoring our veterans as well as our current men and women in uniform.  Osborne Oakley, Executive Director of the foundation talked with Wilson about the beginning of the foundation.  On Monday, November 7th the American Airlines Freedom Breakfast to celebrate Veterans Day will be held Uptown at the Sheraton Hotel.  Click HERE for ticket information.

Wilson talked with veterans who have fought for our country and their experiences when returning home from their service.  Some of these veterans volunteer at the Carolinas Aviation Museum.

One great group that will also be a part of this year’s Veteran’s Day festivities is Purple Heart Homes.  This is a great opportunity for people to find out more about Purple Heart Homes and everything they do for the veterans in our community.  And see a home on a float!

This year’s Salute to Veterans Day Parade includes local and middle high school bands, JROTC units, active military units, veterans units and plenty of floats.  The parade starts Uptown at 11am at North Tryon Street.
