Student Brings Gun To Charlotte Elementary School

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Administrators at Huntingtowne Farms Elementary say a student brought a gun to school on Thursday.

Principal Carolyn Rodd  sent an email to parents informing them of an incident, in which a student brought a gun to school.

Rodd stated staff identified the student and searched the students backpack, where a gun was found.  Rodd also said further investigation produced a box cutter in another student’s backpack.

The school immediately notified law enforcement.

Rodd said no one was threatened or injured.  She encouraged parents to speak with their children about the seriousness of the incident and the consequences, and about informing administrators of any act that violates school rules.
