CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Administrators at Huntingtowne Farms Elementary say a student brought a gun to school on Thursday.
Principal Carolyn Rodd Β sent an email to parents informing them of an incident, in which a student brought a gun to school.
Rodd stated staff identified the student and searched the students backpack, where a gun was found. Β Rodd also said further investigation produced a box cutter in another student’s backpack.
The school immediately notified law enforcement.
Rodd said no one was threatened or injured. Β She encouraged parents to speak with their children about the seriousness of the incident and the consequences, and about informing administrators of any act that violates school rules.
