Wilson’s World: Enjoying Great IHOP Pancakes and Talking Hometown Heroes
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson stopped back in at the newest location of IHOP’s on Highland Shoppes Drive to enjoy some of the new pancakes they are offering during the holiday season and talk with Mecklenburg County Sheriff Irwin Carmichael about the Hometown Heroes Christmas tree lot.
The Hometown Heroes Christmas tree lot is all about the kids. Helping children who suffer with terminal illnesses or debilitating injuries and their families get through the rough roads they have to follow throughout their journey is the mission for Hometown Heroes. “Big Kids Helping Little Kids” is not just a motto for these volunteers.
One of the lots is located down the road from the IHOP on Highlands Shoppes Drive at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church. And there are 3 more locations around the area. For locations and hours, go to their website at htheroes.org. All of the trees are grown in North Carolina, cut fresh and brought straight to the lots.
