CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — A manΒ is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Caldwell County.
Investigators say deputies with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic call on Dudley Shoals Road just below 1:30am Monday.
Authorities say Deputy Runion encountered 52-year-old Roy Minton who was reportedly armed with a pistol. Β Deputy Runion fired his service weapon during an alleged armed confrontation, thus killing 52-year-old Roy Minton, according to a news release. Β Investigators say deputies have been called to the home multiple times over the past few years on domestic related calls.
No other details in reference to the shooting have been released at this time. Β InvestigatorsΒ have not released the name of the deputy involvedΒ in the shooting.
