Winter Storm Arrives Late Friday, Frigid Air Over The Weekend

Cloudy skies are expected Friday with temperatures only warming into the low to mid-40s. A few rain or snow showers are possible during the afternoon but no significant precipitation is expected. Scattered rain and snow showers will transition to a steadier snow Friday evening and linger throughout the overnight. In and around Charlotte, 4-6″ are expected. Areas north and west will received slightly less, 2-4″. Snow will quickly taper off Saturday morning with sunshine expected during the afternoon. High temperatures will only reach the low 30s. Saturday night will be frigid with temperatures dropping into the single digits and teens, black ice will be likely. Clear skies and frigid temperatures will continue through Monday.
