BURKE COUNTY, N.C. – Lance Huss with South Mountain State Park has confirmed thatΒ the victim is Ryan Yount, 25, from Hickory.
Huss says that Lance was with his girlfriend when he lost his footing and slipped.
Multiple agencies responded to the fall, including Burke County Emergency Services, South Mountains Volunteer Fire Department,Β Enola Volunteer Fire Department and park staff.
BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — A man is dead after falling from a waterfall at a Burke County state park.
Officials at South Mountains State Park say a, 25-year-old, man died after “falling from a height of approximately 80 feet.”
The investigation is ongoing and more details will be released as they become available.
