CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Investigators say alcohol was a factor in a wreck that killed a man early Monday morning in northwest Charlotte.
The accident happened just before 1:30am. Β Police say Barton Nixon was driving a Nissan Altima northbound on Toddville Road when he failed to stop at the intersection of Rozzelles Ferry Road.
Investigators say Nixon’s vehicle struck a GMC Yukon in the intersection. Β Police say speed was not a contributing factor but they believe Nixon was under the influence of alcohol.
The driver of the Yukon was treated for a minor injury. Β No other details have been released at this time.
