CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 19-year-old is facing murder charges after a man was hit and killed by a vehicle on I-85 Wednesday evening.
Police were conducting a death investigation on I-85 near West Sugar Creek Road around 10pm Wednesday after a man appeared to have been hit and killed by a vehicle.
Police said in the preliminary investigation, the victim, 46-year-old David Brannon, was involved in an altercation with 19-year-old Austin Kelligan.
Officers say Kelligan voluntarily agreed to be interviewed by detectives. As a result of the information and evidence gathered during the investigation, police charged Kelligan with murder.
No other details have been released at this time.
