
UPDATE: A Lincolnton man will spend roughly nine years in prison on child pornography charges.
Officials say Daniel Rathbone, 38, was sentenced to 112 months in prison and will also serve a lifetime of supervised released with registration as a sex offender following his release.
Rathbone was arrested in August 2015 after law enforcement found 181 images and 261 videos of child pornography downloaded to his computer, according to reports. Officials say many of the images and videos contained depictions of prepubescent minors performing sadistic and masochistic acts. Records show Rathbone had a previous state conviction of taking indecent liberties with a child.
Officials say Rathbone pleaded guilty in October 2016 to one count of receipt of child pornography.

LINCOLNTON, NC– Authorities have charged a Gastonia man with additional child pornography charges after being arrested previously in August.
Police say Daniel Lee Rathbone, 37, was charged with five more felony second degree sexual exploitation of a minor charges after investigators examined computers seized from Rathbone’s home.
Rathbone was arrested in August after an investigation uncovered numerous hard drives, computers and other devices containing suspected child pornography.
