Mild And Breezy Friday, Cold And Unsettled Weekend

Clouds will gradually break up Friday with breezy conditions expected, highs in the upper 60s. Much colder air will filter into the region Friday night with lows in the 30s. Clouds will increase Saturday with noticeably cooler temperatures, highs only reaching the low to mid-50s. Rain will approach the area from the west Saturday evening and become light to moderate during the overnight. Rain will transition to snow in the mountains and linger into Sunday morning. Snow will mix in with the rain in Charlotte early Sunday morning before tapering off during the morning. Several inches of snow is possible in the mountains with lesser amounts in the foothills. Charlotte will see little or no accumulation with temperatures only dropping into the low to mid-30s and warm ground conditions. Below average temperatures will linger into next week.
