Wilson’s World: Celebrating Pi Day with Heart Math Tutoring at Montclaire Elementary

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was lost in a world of math this morning visiting Montclaire Elementary School to celebrate Pi Day.  And what a better way to have fun than with the the students as they learn math with Heart Math Tutoring.

Scarlett and Oscar, two fifth graders along with their teacher Mr. O’Leary joined Wilson to show him some of the things they have learned about math and why they enjoy math.

Heart Math Tutoring is a program that recruits, trains and supports volunteers who go into the elementary schools in Charlotte to tutor students.  These volunteers help bring an enthusiasm and fun for math to these kids in such a way that the kids develop a strong foundation in math as well as improve their academic performance.

They are always in need of volunteers.  To find out more about Heart Math Tutoring, everything they do and how you can volunteer, go to their website at hearttutoring.org.
