CHARLOTTE, NC– Meet Selah Grace, a beautiful little girl who has a happy and upbeat look on life, who loves her pink cowgirl hat and who has faith stronger than just about anyone.
At just 4 years old, this precious little girl was diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer in January 2016, and she has been dealing with the effects of that diagnosis ever since.
Neuroblastoma cancer is a very rare form of cancer. It is a cancer found in the adrenal gland above the kidneys and may require either surgery or chemotherapy. In Selah’s case, it was chemotherapy.
So far during Selah’s life, she has had to endure many tests, treatments and surgeries. Just a few of her experiences include major chest surgery, five rounds of chemotherapy, stem cell harvest in Charleston, surgery to remove her left adrenal gland, surgery to place a broviac tube in her chest, two stem cell transplants, and proton radiation therapy in Jacksonville, FL.
One of the many side effects of her chemotherapy has been a significant loss of hearing, and as such, Selah will soon be getting hearing aids in order to be able to continue to hear.
As much as she has had to endure so far in her life, Selah’s futureholds many more tests and surgeries.
Throughout this ordeal, Selah continues to have a bright outlook on life and to be a blessing to all who know her.
Selah and her family continue to find comfort in their faith. Their motto is: God is good!
