LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. —  A Lincoln County teen is facing multiple charges after leading deputies on a chase in Lincolnton.

Sebastian Ginestri

Sebastian Christopher Ginestri is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Fleeing to Elude Law Enforcement, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, No Operator’s License, Damage to Property, Resisting a Public Officer, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.

Deputies say on Thursday, March 30th, as detectives were arriving to conduct an investigation regarding a missing juvenile at a residence on Ritchie Road, a stolen vehicle with three occupants fled the scene toward Startown Road.

Detectives and sheriff’s deputies chased the vehicle onto Reepsville Road where stop sticks were set up, damaging the right front tire of the car.

The pursuit continued in the Union Elementary School area until the vehicle pulled off the road into a field near the school, where the car almost hit a deputy.

Once the vehicle stopped, the occupants fled on foot into a wooded area.  Officials searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

On Friday, March 31st, 2017, at around 9:00 a.m., sheriff’s deputies received a call about a suspicious male and female near Howard’s Creek Mill Road.  The individuals were picked up and the 14-year-old female was released to her parents.

The male was identified as Sebastian Ginestri and was determined to be the driver of the vehicle deputies had chased the night before.

Ginestri was also charged for the theft of a vehicle on Keener Road.  According to reports, the victim was warming her vehicle on the morning of March 29th.  When she went back inside her residence, the vehicle was stolen.   It was recovered in Lincolnton the following day.
