Local Hospitals Lift Visitor Restrictions Due To Flu
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Several local hospitals in Charlotte announced Monday that they are lifting their visitor restrictions after seeing a drop in the number of patients with flu-like symptoms.
Novant Health, Carolinas Healthcare Systems and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center have either lifted or will be lifting their visitor restrictions in the next few days.
Novant Health says all visitors should properly disinfect their hands by washing with soap and water or using sanitizing gel when entering and leaving the facilities in order to prevent the spread of the flu virus.
More than 7,000 people have been treated for the flu in North Carolina during the 2016-2017 flu season, according to data from nc.gov. There have also been 170 flu deaths reported in the state this season (see all data HERE).
