CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are searching for Daniel Mekonen. He is accused of cutting off his court ordered electronic monitoring device.
Mekonen is wanted for two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, damage to property and interfering with an electronic monitoring device. Mekonen was court ordered to wear the electronic monitoring device as a condition of his pre-trial release.
Police say he cut off the device on April 17th and was last known to be in the area of East Independence Boulevard near Margaret Wallace Road.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
