Lancaster Couple Arrested For Stealing Mail

LANCASTER, S.C. — Investigators say they arrested a couple in Lancaster County after they found more than 100 parcels and packages addressed to other people inside their vehicle.

Deputies say they spotted Matthew McCoy, Cierra Oxandaboure and a four-year-old child sitting inside a vehicle behind Dixie Bee Supply on Pageland Highway in the early morning hours of April 21st.

The vehicle’s headlights were off but the interior dome light was on, according to a news release.  Deputies say the tag did not match the car and McCoy’s driver’s license was suspended.

After a search of the car, deputies say they found oxycodone pills and 134 parcels and packages addressed to 49 people at 32 addresses.

A search warrant executed at the suspect’s home address ended with deputies recovering an additional eight pieces of mail and packages.  Deputies say they also found several checks payable to someone other than the suspects.

Both suspects are facing multiple charges and more charges are pending at this time.
