A Murder Victim’s Family Pleads For Information

CHARLOTTE, NC — The family of Charlotte’s first murder victim in 2017 are still pleading for information months after the death.

Natanel Rodriguez was shot and killed in January, and four months later investigators say there are still no leads on the killer.

Rodriguez was found dead inside his apartment on Monroe Road after family members say he never showed up for a birthday party. Police say Rodriguez may have known the shooter because there were no signs of forced entry.

Crime Stoppers, 704-334-1600, is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Police say 8 of the city’s 29 homicides so far this year remain unsolved.
