State Law Enforcement Bike To DC In Honor Of Fallen Officers
CHARLOTTE, NC — More than 100 law enforcement officers from across the state are cycling their way to Washington, DC in honor of fallen CMPD officers Sean Clark and Jeff Shelton.
The ride began in Uptown Charlotte this morning and will include a more than 500 mile journey to our nation’s capital. The ride is to honor the deaths of Officers Clark and Shelton who died in the line of duty 10 years ago. It was that tragic event that inspired the very first bike ride to Washington.
Officials say the cyclists should arrive in Washington on Friday. On Saturday, they will attend a candlelight vigil to honor all of the police officers killed across the nation last year.
