Major Traffic Shift On I-77 Starts This Weekend

CHARLOTTE, NC — One section of I-77 will take a major shift for the rest of the year as toll lane construction continues.

Starting on Saturday, May 13th at 10pm, the northbound lanes of I-77 between the Brookshire Freeway/I-77 Interchange and LaSalle Street will shift to the southbound lanes. Cars will be separated by concrete barriers.

Crews will be building a new bridge for Oaklawn Avenue.

Officials say the shift will last through the end of December.
