Last Minute Change To CMS Student Assignment Plan Has Some Parents Upset
CHARLOTTE, NC — Parents are crying foul after a last minute change to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ controversial student assignment plan.
The disputes came during a meeting Monday night in Myers Park, just two days before the board is scheduled to vote on phase two.
An amendment proposed by Dilworth parents would change school boundaries for Eastover Elementary. Under the change, those students would be sent to the struggling Sedgefield Middle instead of Alexander Graham. The previous plan didn’t change boundaries for Eastover.
Parents say they only found out about this plan through an email last Friday.
