Union County School Taken Off Lockdown Following Police Activity In The Area

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A Union County School was placed on lockdown after reports of gunshots being heard in the area.

Walter Bickett Elementary School was placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon.  A Facebook user reported seeing police with assault rifles in the area.

Does anyone know what's going on at Walter Bickett Elementary? Just passed by and there's A LOT of police activity. Several officers with assault rifles.

School officials say a Hispanic man was detained but there is no word on charges at this time.  No injuries were reported.
