Lake Patrol Steps Up Efforts To Keep You Safe This Memorial Day Weekend

CORNELIUS, NC — Cornelius Lake Patrol is stepping up efforts to keep people safe this Memorial Day weekend.

Patrol officers say wearing a life jacket, not drinking while operating a boat, and keeping a safe distance from other boats are just a few key ways to keep your family safe on the water. Officials also say it’s good to have a ‘float plan,’ where you let someone know where you’re going to be and when you’re coming back, in case of an emergency.

The lake patrol is always on 24-7 response for any 911 call on Lake Norman. Officials say there will also be one or two extra patrol boats on the water on weekends.
