CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say they caught a suspect accused of tying up a man, sexually assaulting a woman and robbing both of the victims in an alley in Uptown Charlotte.
Investigators say the incident happened just before 2am on Thursday on east Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The victims claim they were walking to their hotel when the suspect, Tevin Williams, pulled out a gun and forced them into an alley. The male victim was reportedly bound and the female victim was sexually assaulted, according to a news release.
Williams is accused of taking the victims’ clothing, a cellphone and a wallet.
Police say they located Williams just before 3:30am and took him into custody. After being interviewed by detectives, Williams was charged with two counts of 1st degree rape, three counts of 1st degree sex offense, two counts of 1st degree kidnapping, two counts of armed robbery and possession of a stolen firearm.
