CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man has been arrested for child abuse after a child was admitted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Christopher Sims, 25, was arrested and charged with Felony Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Injury.
CMPD Officers, on Wednesday, June 7th, responded to Carolinas Medical Center to investigate reports of a two-year-old male with multiple bodily injuries, including a traumatic brain injury.
Hospital staff told authorities the child’s injuries were life-threatening and he was unable to breathe on his own.
After interviewing the child’s mother and her boyfriend, Christopher Sims, it was determined that the child was in Sims’ care at the time of the injuries.
