Wilson’s World: In the Friendship Kitchen Preparing Meals for Friendship Trays

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Today Wilson was visiting with the hard working crew of Friendship Trays in the Friendship Kitchen where they were preparing meals to be delivered as part of the Meals on Wheels program.  But they are in need of donations to continue their delivery of balanced meals to those in the community who are unable to prepare their own meals.

Lani Lawrence, the Assistant Director of Friendship Trays, talked with Wilson about their mission as well as their need for additional donations from the community.  Lani was also the recipient of Wilson’s latest “Moment of Good” award.

Friendship Gardens, Friendship Kitchen and Friendship Trays all make up Meals on Wheels in Charlotte-Mecklenburg.  From the food grown in the Friendship Gardens, the volunteers and workers in the Friendship Kitchen prepare the food.  Over 600 meals a day are delivered thanks to the Friendship Trays.
