STATESVILLE, N.C. — Police say one person was shot and an accused home invasion suspect was stabbedΒ in Statesville.
Investigators say three suspects forcibly entered a home on N. Oakland Avenue in Statesville early Monday morning and began shooting.
A resident of the home was reportedly shot during the incident. Β Investigators say the residents of the home attempted to defend themselves and a struggle ensued with the shooting suspect. Β During the struggle, police say the accused suspect was stabbed.
The other two suspects reportedly ran from the scene. Β The only description released by police were that the other two suspects were two young black males.
Both men were taken to a local hospital and both underwent surgery for their injuries. Β The names of the victim and the suspect have not been released at this time.
