Youth Soccer Games Are About To Get A Lot Quieter In South Carolina
After seeing a rise in fights between parents and referees, the South Carolina Youth Soccer Association is implementing a new rule this fall.
The ‘Silent September’ rule will go into effect for all league games this fall. The rule states that referees will be able to warn parents twice to stop yelling before asking them to leave. If the parent refuses to leave, then the game will stop.
The EDGE panel is weighing in on the new rule, and asking whether it should be implemented year round.
