Lincolnton Man Arrested For Trafficking LSD
LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Investigators say they arrested a man for trafficking LSD, also known as acid, in Lincoln County.
Detectives arrested 20-year-old Zavier Hatcher after an ongoing investigation into acid sales throughout Lincoln County.
Detectives say Hatcher sold various amounts of the drug over a three to four month period. On at least one occasion he is accused of selling a trafficking amount of LSD.
Detectives say LSD, or acid, comes in various forms including what looks like a postage stamp or small tab, also called “blotter paper”. People who use the drug will often times place the stamp under their tongue until the paper and LSD absorbs into their bloodstream.
LSD is a psychedelic drug that affects the brain and will often times cause a user to hallucinate or take a “trip”. LSD can also stay lodged in a person’s spinal cord causing flashback hallucinations years later. Detectives say most people who use the drug are young adults and it is most often seen on college campuses.
Hatcher has been charged with trafficking LSD by sell, trafficking LSD by deliver, trafficking LSD by transport, trafficking LSD by possession, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, two counts of sell and deliver LSD and two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule I controlled substance.
Hatcher was placed in jail under a $250,000 bond.
