CMPD Arrests Two Suspects For Breaking Into Vehicles In Coventry Woods Neighborhood

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say they arrested an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old for their involvement in stealing property from vehicles in the Coventry Woods neighborhood.

Investigators say an officer was conducting a directed patrol in the neighborhood due to the increase in vehicle break-ins recently reported. Β While on patrol, the officer made contact with a juvenile and determined he was in violation of the youth protection ordinance.

While speaking with the juvenile, police say the officer located a concealed stolen purse and a taser. Β The juvenile was arrested and transported to his residence where a juvenile arrest was completed. Β The juvenile was then released to the custody of his parents.

A short time later, officers say they encountered Zachariah Robles. Β While speaking with Robles, investigators say he confessed that he was in possession of stolen property that had been taken from vehicles overnight.

Robles was placed under arrest. Β At this time, officers have located two victims who had their vehicles broken into but still have unclaimed property. Β Detectives are asking anyone who lives in the area and may be a victim to call 911 to speak with an officer to determine if the recovered property is theirs.
