Police Investigating Homicide In Southeast Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, NC — The city’s 54th homicide investigation is underway after a car was shot into and crashed in southeast Charlotte.
The shooting happened just after 8pm on Monroe Road at Fugate Avenue. Officials say someone shot into the car and then the driver, Raymond James Johnson III, crashed into a pole.
Officials say he had a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on the scene. No one else was inside the car.
Police are investigating, but have not released any information on possible suspects or what may have led to the shooting.
