CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police arrested a man accused in the hit and run death of a pedestrian on Brookshire Boulevard.
The pedestrian, Nefertiti Foust, was found lying in the roadway on Brookshire Boulevard at the intersection of I-85 around 3am Friday morning.
Information and evidence gathered at the scene led them to identifying the suspect vehicle as a 2006 Ford F-150. The vehicle was located during the course of the investigation and Donivan Winters was identified as the driver who struck the pedestrian, according to police.
Police say alcohol impairment is a factor in the accident. Winters was charged with felony death by vehicle, felony hit and run and driving while impaired.
