Northeastern University-Charlotte Provides Innovative Accelerated Nursing Program
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The healthcare industry continues to see an increased demand for registered nurses, and the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Northeastern University-Charlotte is helping to fill the void.
The 16-month Β blended learning model combines online coursework, hands-on experience, and clinical rotations at some of the best health care facilities in the area.
According to Northeastern’s regional dean and CEO, Cheryl Richards,Β βThe nationwide nursing shortage is reaching critical levels, and Charlotte is feeling the effects. Β Since establishing our campus here five years ago, weβve always been committed to addressing the needs of the region and the community. Providing a pipeline of well-educated, clinically prepared nurses to our health care partners is certainly at the top of that list.β
The ASBN program is perfect for non-nursing professionals, recent college graduates seeking a career change, or parents who took time away from work to start families but would now like to rejoin the workforce.
βThere has never been a better time for recent graduates and professionals looking to change careers to enter the nursing profession,β said Northeastern School of Nursing Dean and Professor Nancy Hanrahan, PhD., RN, FAAN. βOur ABSN program prepares adult learners from a diverse array of backgrounds to play leadership roles in nursing practice, education and research right in their local communities.β
Northeastern’s ASBN program is the only one in the region with three start days per year and spots are currently available for qualified students.
Graduating students will be fully prepared for the National Council Licensure Examination and to enter the workforce as a registered nurse.
