CMPD Searching for Armed and Dangerous Murder Suspect

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD Homicide Detectives have identified Darius Jordan Perry as a suspect in the August 24, 2017 murder of De’Monte RaShawn Perkins.

Information and evidence gathered by Homicide Detectives during the investigation led them in signing warrants on Perry and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is currently seeking the public’s assistance in locating him.

Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service, back on August 24th, where the caller stated a male had been located with a gunshot wound.  Upon their arrival, officers located Perkins with an apparent gunshot wound.  He was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to immediately call 704-336-VCAT (8228) or 911.  Perry is considered armed and dangerous. This is an ongoing, active investigation.
