Wilson’s World: Previewing the Chinese Lantern Festival 2017 at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens

Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens Chinese Lantern Festival 2017 runs Wednesday - Sunday through October 29th.

BELMONT, N.C. – Wilson was in Belmont at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden where the art of the Chinese lantern has been elevated to an amazing level with their current exhibition Chinese Lantern Festival 2017.

Wilson was joined by George Zhao, Producer of the Chinese Lantern Festival and Patrick Larkin, Executive Director of Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens to talk about the festival.   It’s the garden’s largest exhibition to date with over 800 handmade lanterns that fill more than 12 acres.  These life-sized lanterns have traveled over 9,000 miles from China as part of the all new Asian themed display. The Wild,” a world of life-size (sometimes larger than life) illuminated panda bears, lions, flamingos and more fauna from the world’s seven continents.

Visitors will enjoy Kung Fu shows, enjoy authentic Shadow Plays, and browse the marketplace that features authentic Chinese folk art and crafts handmade onsite.  There will also be a foodtruck available.

Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens Chinese Lantern Festival 2017 is open Wednesday through Sundays from 5:30pm until 9:30pm through October 29th.  For ticket information go to their website at dsbg.org.
