Police Investigating After Swastika Drawn On Jewish Family’s Home In Southwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating a possible hate crime after a Jewish man reported that someone drew a Swastika on his home in southwest Charlotte.

The victim told police he returned to his home on Savannah Creek Drive to find it vandalized.  The crime was reportedly committed on the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah.  The victim says he think it’s a hate crime since he is Jewish.

No arrests have been made at this time.  Crime Stoppers is offer a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

CMPD is increasing uniform patrols in and around the community where the crime was committed.  They are also adding bicycle officers in the area and will begin to employ foot officers Friday evening.  Officers have also been instructed to conduct zone checks in the area of synagogues citywide.
