RICHFIELD, NC– Authorities say on Wednesday, September 28th, the organization, Friends of Stanly County Animals, was contacted by someone who witnessed a dog being dragged behind a red and white pickup truck.

The witness, who had her child with her, went to the dog’s aid and stayed with the canine until an FSCA volunteer arrived.

The dog, a female pit mix now named “Tink,” was immediately taken to an ER vet in Kannapolis and given IV fluids and was sedated for pain while they diagnosed the extent of her injuries.

“Tink,” unable to walk, suffered from severe road rash which may require skin grafts, two broken knees, and a bruised liver.

An FSCA volunteer transported Tink from the ER vet to Cabarrus Animal Hospital, and then to a specialist in Charlotte.

Tink’s injuries are said to be severe and her medical costs are extensive. The FSCA has set up a YouCaring fundraiser with the hopes of raising $7,000 for Tink’s medical costs.

The eyewitness was unable to get the truck’s license tag number and are asking anyone with information on about a red and white pickup truck to call authorities.
