Wilson’s World: Kicking Off NASCAR Weekend 2017 and the Bank of America 500

NASCAR Weekend kicks off this Friday with Pole Night with the Bank of America 500 ending up the weekend on Saturday afternoon.

CONCORD, N.C. – It’s back home for Wilson when he took the show out to Charlotte Motor Speedway to give us a look at NASCAR weekend 2017 and all of the events scheduled through the weekend.

It was a jammed packed morning for Wilson.  He talked with wrestler George South about Campground Wrestling that the campers can enjoy at Rock City Camp Ground on Saturday morning.

He then enjoyed a “Bo-Box” race with NASCAR XFINITY driver Matt Tifft after talking about the XFINITY race on Saturday afternoon and working with Joe Gibb Racing.  No biscuits were harmed in the race.

Charlotte Motor Speedway is honoring Breast Cancer Awareness month, not only by painting a wall pink, but also with Saturday’s  NASCAR XFINITY Series Drive for the Cure 300 presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.   Wilson was joined by XFINITY driver Blake Koch and his #11 Charlotte Breast Cancer car that will be in the XFINITY race.  Blake and Wilson were joined by Tammy Rice, wife of Blake’s crew chief, who will be putting the pedal to the metal in the Better Half Dash at 5pm Friday.  The Better Half Dash is also about raising funds and promoting breast cancer awareness.

Jonathan Coleman with Charlotte Motor Speedway met up with Wilson before he left and talked more about all of the events and how race fans can get more information about everything happening on and off the track, the Fan Zone, the goodbye scheduled for Dale, Jr. with a Brad Paisley concert, and of course ticket and parking information at the speedway’s website charlottemotorspeedway.com.
